1. Wire diameter specification
The wire diameter determines the load-bearing capacity and tensile strength of the wire mesh, and the common specifications are as follows:
  • Fine diameter type: with a wire diameter of 0.8-1.2mm, it is lightweight and cost-effective, suitable for fixing rock wool roll felt on indoor walls and small equipment, and does not require high load-bearing requirements.
  • Conventional type: wire diameter 1.2-1.8mm, high cost-effectiveness, is a commonly used specification for rock wool insulation of building exterior walls and roofs, which can balance strength and construction convenience.
  • Bold type: wire diameter 1.8-2.5mm, strong load-bearing and impact resistance, suitable for outdoor scenes, insulation of large industrial equipment, or situations where the thickness of rock wool roll felt is large (≥ 100mm).
2. Mesh size specifications
The size of the mesh affects the fit and fixing effect of the wire mesh, and needs to be matched with the thickness and usage scenario of the rock wool roll felt:

According to the corrosiveness of the usage environment, wire mesh materials are divided into:
  • Black wire (low-carbon steel wire) mesh: Low cost, no rust prevention treatment, suitable for indoor dry environments or short-term temporary insulation projects.
  • Hot dip galvanized wire mesh: The surface galvanized layer thickness is 80-120g/㎡, with strong rust prevention ability, suitable for outdoor humid, acidic and alkaline environments (such as exterior walls and chemical plant pipelines), and the service life can reach 5-10 years.
  • Electroplated galvanized wire mesh: The galvanized layer is relatively thin (10-30g/㎡), with average rust resistance, suitable for indoor environments with mild humidity (such as basement walls).
