What are the characteristics of ceramic fiber blanket?

In high-temperature industrial fields such as metallurgy, petrochemicals, and kilns, the temperature resistance limit and stability of insulation materials are directly related to production safety. This ceramic fiber blanket is made from high-purity alumina and silica raw materials, which are melted, blown into fibers, and then needle-punched into shape. It can withstand high temperatures of 1260℃ for a long time and an instantaneous temperature of 1400℃, far exceeding traditional insulation materials. With a fiber diameter of only 3-5μm, the interwoven three-dimensional network structure results in a thermal conductivity as low as 0.03W/(m·K). In high-temperature kiln lining applications, it can reduce heat loss by more than 30%. ​

Given the complex shapes of industrial equipment, the product is flexible and resistant to tearing, allowing it to be directly cut and wrapped around irregular pipes and furnace bodies. Its installation efficiency is 50% higher than that of traditional refractory bricks. Additionally, it exhibits excellent chemical stability, resisting acid and alkali erosion, and maintains stable performance even in corrosive environments such as sulfur-containing flue gas. Its service life is over 6 years.


The characteristics of ceramic fiber blanket
  • Outstanding high-temperature resistance : Ceramic fiber blankets can withstand extremely high temperatures, with long-term operating temperatures ranging from 1000°C to 1400°C (variations exist among different models), and can even tolerate even higher temperatures for short periods. They are suitable for high-temperature environments such as industrial furnaces and high-temperature pipelines, far exceeding the upper limit of temperature resistance of traditional insulation materials (such as rock wool and glass wool).
  • Lightweight and excellent insulation : The product has a low density (typically between 96-128 kg/m³), is light in weight, and can significantly reduce the load on equipment. Its fibrous structure is loose and porous, with a thermal conductivity as low as 0.09, providing outstanding insulation and heat preservation performance, effectively reducing heat loss and energy consumption.
  • Good chemical stability: It has a strong resistance to most acids, alkalis, salts and other chemical substances, is not prone to chemical reactions, and can maintain stable performance in corrosive environments, with a relatively long service life.
